  1. New England Patriots (9-2) – The Pats are supercharged this December. Sporting a 9-2 record, Brady and Bellichick look poised for a Super Bowl run, even without franchise-killer Randy Moss running go-routes.
  2. New York Jets (9-2) – Well, you are what your record says you are, and the Jets have 9 wins and 2 losses. They have trademarked winning ugly with some nail-biting wins over some awful teams, but look as good as anyone right now.
  3. Atlanta Falcons (9-2) – Matt Ryan and the dirty birds have become a complete team before our very eyes. They can do it all on offense, and are virtually unbeatable at the Georgia Dome. Ludacris must be proud.
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) – The Steelers are similar to the Jets, winning ugly with some luck intertwined. But it is better to be lucky than good, and the Steelers have been here before.
  5. Baltimore Ravens (8-3) – The ugly birds have a chance to sweep their rivals for the first time in a long time Sunday Night. This game will tell us a lot about both teams.
  6. Chicago Bears (8-3) – After the Bears beat the dog-killing Eagles, they proved they are legit. The Bears finally have something to compliment their stout defense – A competent quarterback.
  7. New Orleans Saints (8-3) - The defending champs have fallen a bit under the radar thus far, but are exactly where they want to be as they make their December run towards the playoffs.
  8. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) - The first-place Eagles are a scary team because of Mike Vick. The big play is always on the table. But elite? I’m not sure yet.
  9. New York Giants (7-4) The G-Men have been up and down this season, but a win over the Deadskins this Sunday should cement the Giants at least a wild card spot.
  10. Green Bay Packers (7-4) – At times, the Packers have looked like Super Bowl contenders, but some head scratching losses have me curious about how this team would fair in a big spot.
  11. San Diego Chargers (6-5) – Ah, THERE are the Chargers. Phillip Rivers is as good as it gets at the position, and this team is looking more and more like the favorite to get the AFC title game. Their record is the reason they are ranked 11th.
  12. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4) – The Patriots mid-west are a tricky team. I believe we’ll know a lot more about the Chiefs after they host Denver in a rematch this week, no post-game handshakes required.
  13. Indianapolis Colts (6-5) – Remember when I said Peyton Manning was getting old? Well that was stupid. But his team is nicked up almost beyond repair, and the Colts need some answers before they find themselves out of the playoff mix.
  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-4) – McNabb 2.0 and the Bucs are solid team. But with a second year coach, I question this team in a do or die game. Need more consistent play from the run game.
  15. Miami Dolphins (6-5) – No uarterback in South Beach has the Dolphins in real trouble. Add Brandon Marshall’s bad hammy, and this team could be on the outside looking in come January.
  16. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5) – The Jags have been a pleasant surprise this year, and could wind up in the thick of things for the division if the Colts don’t right the ship. This team needs MJD to rush for a hundy per game the rest of the way.
  17. St. Louis Rams (5-6) – In a putrid division, the Rams could find themselves in the playoffs with a losing record, a second year coach, and a rookie quarterback. Hell of a world we live in.
  18. Houston Texans (5-6) – The saddest thing in life is a wasted talent, which is exactly what the Texans are. I trust they will be in the market for a new head coach come February.
  19. Oakland Raiders (5-6) – I know they’ve lost two straight, but the Raiders have played well enough to not be a walking joke this year. And who knows, they could string together a few nice ones and squeak into the sixth spot for the playoffs.
  20. Tennessee Titans (5-6) – The Jeff Fischer era could be coming to a bitter end in the Volunteer State. Either the coach or the quarterback will be gone after this season, never a good scenario for a pro-football team.
  21. Washington Redskins (5-6) – A must win game for the ‘Skins this weekend in North Jersey to keep alive a tumultuous year in our nation’s capital.
  22. Seattle Seahawks (5-6) – Same record as the Rams, yet five places behind them in the same division. Shows you how much faith I have in the “12th Man.”
  23. Minnesota Vikings (4-7) – New Coach, Same Favre. The Vikings are currently accepting applications for the future in Minnesota, because changes are a coming.
  24. Cleveland Browns (4-7) – The Brownies have played some good games this season, but unfortunately, they are the Browns, which means they lose by any means necessary.
  25. San Francisco 49ers (4-7) – Troy Smith has looked decent in a lost year for the Bay Area Gold Diggers. Maybe it’s enough to keep Mike Singletary on the sidelines for one more season.
  26. Dallas Cowboys (3-8) – LOLZ. The Cowboys had a nice little run knocking off the Giants in Jersey, but losing at home to the Saints on Turkey Day reminded us why this has not been America’s Team since the 90’s.
  27. Buffalo Bills (2-9) – Any time you blast God on Twitter after a bitter loss at home during a 2-9 campaign, you know it’s been a long year.
  28. Denver Broncos (3-8) – You wanna win? Put Tebow in. It may be the last chance for Josh McDaniels and his TMZ Cameramen to save their jobs.
  29. Detroit Lions (2-9) – The Lions have fought this season, which is something new for a team that went 0-16 and hasn’t won on the road in 50 years.
  30. Arizona Cardinals (3-8) – This team took the Steelers to the final play of the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. Since then, they’ve lost their Hall-Of-Fame QB, an elite WR, and two Pro-Bowl defenders. No worries folks, Ryan Mallet is on his way.
  31. Cincinnati Bengals (2-9) – I have never hated a 2-9 team as much as I hate these losers. Bye-Bye Marvin Lewis, and maybe Carson Palmer and his one good leg. That T.Ocho experiment worked out real well, eh?
  32. Carolina Panthers (1-10) – Brian St. Pierre? John Fox is has already packed his bags, I wonder who will coach this group of losers next year?
